Behavioral therapy for adults

Individual and group therapy

Trauma therapy

I see psychotherapy as a support for long-term self-help with various mental problems and illnesses. As a psychotherapist specializing in behavioral therapy, my focus is on working on the thoughts and behaviors that are stressful and dysfunctional for you.
Within the scope of an appreciative and non-judgmental atmosphere, an individual condition model is created and change goals for psychotherapy are set. Since everyone has many resources for coping with problems of their own, the focus in the sessions is also on becoming aware of one's own strengths and actively using them for oneself.

Change with the help of psychotherapy often takes place between therapy sessions, i.e. you are encouraged to try out new behaviors and examine stressful basic assumptions in everyday life with the help of therapeutic pre- and post-therapy discussions. The focus of the sessions is also to find a way to deal with unpleasant feelings. In the sessions, I use techniques from modern behavioral therapy as well as strategies from mindfulness-based therapies (e.g., mindfulness-based self-compassion). If needed, body-based interventions and exercises of social situations (social skills training) can also be tried.

It is important for me to work out a self-accepting attitude towards your individual problems and burdens with you. After understanding and self-acceptance, the goal of treatment is to find a different way of dealing with one's own difficulties and to reduce psychological stress.

As a trauma therapist, among other things my treatment focuses on the treatment of trauma-related disorders (including post-traumatic stress disorder). During treatment, imaginative and/or real confrontation with the traumatic experience takes place. In addition, event-related thoughts are processed and avoidance behavior is reduced. This can lead to a reduction in the stress caused by the experience.

Since I have the additional qualification to perform group therapy, there is also the possibility to take advantage of a group therapy with me if there are enough interested people. Group therapy provides the opportunity to share with others and reduce possible anxiety and shame for one's personal strains. In addition, techniques such as role-playing can be optimally tried out in the context of group therapy.

Billing and costs
Private health insurance
If psychotherapy is indicated, the costs are usually covered by private health insurance. The cost of a 50-minute session is currently between 100.55 and 153.00 euros. Usually the 3-fold increase rate is applied. This means that the costs are then 131.15 euros per 50-minute psychotherapeutic session. Depending on the insurance and tariff, at least 100.55 euros per session (2.3 times the incremental rate) are normally covered. You may have to pay the difference yourself. Please contact your private health insurance company before an initial consultation to clarify whether the costs of psychotherapeutic treatment will be covered.

Self-payers

As a self-payer, psychotherapy can start immediately without any formalities. The psychotherapy will then not be recorded by the health insurance company. This is important, for example, if you are planning to become a civil servant for life, want to change your health insurance provider or want to take out long-term disability insurance. The costs are 131.15 euros per 50-minute psychotherapeutic session.

Statutory health insurance
Unfortunately, despite the increasing demand for therapy places, no additional health insurance funds are being created in Berlin. Unfortunately, treatment in a private practice cannot be billed to public health insurance companies. I do not offer billing under a cost-reimbursement procedure.

I do not offer settlement of accounts via the German government aid ('Beihilfe') and the professional associations ('Berufsgenossenschaften') .
